    Chapel Hill Transit is planning to purchase three new electric buses that run on batteries to reduce emissions and improve local air quality.

    Bus Detours on Hillsborough Street Starting June 10

    Chapel Hill Transit A and Saturday T routes will be detoured for about 8-10 days starting Monday, June 10. Outbound trips only will be detoured. The detoured routes will not serve some bus stops on Hillsborough Street.

    New Home for Fourth of July Celebration

    Chapel Hill will celebrate July 4 with a fireworks display and community celebration at Southern Village. Come early for live musical entertainment and food and drinks from Market Street merchants from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Village Green. Fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m.
