Chapel Hill Transit Service Update Hurricane Florence

During the morning peak service, Chapel Hill Transit buses experienced widespread road closures due to a quick flash flooding throughout the service area. At that time, services were suspended for the safety of our customers and employees.
Chapel Hill Transit will resume services today (9/17) at 1:30 p.m. The following routes will not operate: A, B, CL, CM, CW, D, F, G, HS, N, RU, T, U, and V routes.
The following routes will operate beginning at 1:30 p.m.: CCX, CPX, FCX, HU, J, JFX, NS, NU, S, and GoTriangle 420 route. The J route will end at 7:56 p.m. at Rock Haven Road. The FCX, HU and S routes will serve all lots along Friday Center Drive.
Chapel Hill Transit buses will continue to follow normal routes and published schedules as long as conditions are safe for travel.
Based on anticipated forecast Chapel Hill Transit will operate as normal on Tuesday, September 18.
Chapel Hill Transit staff will continue to monitor conditions throughout the afternoon and night and will provide any updates on services as soon as possible.
Chapel Hill Transit makes every effort to safely operate all services during inclement weather. We are committed to announcing any decision to change services promptly to give customers as much lead time as possible to plan accordingly.
