Chapel Hill has seen a massive amount of rainfall in the last three days. The remnants of Hurricane Florence will continue late Monday night into Tuesday with even more rainfall, so flooding will continue.

Sunny skies and above-freezing temperatures helped Town of Chapel Hill and NC Department of Transportation crews make progress on the cleanup of nearly a foot of snow left by Winter Storm Inga. We appreciate your patience as our crews work to return us to normal conditions as soon as possible.

Winter Storm Inga dropped between 10 and 12 inches of snow on Chapel Hill Wednesday, and extremely low overnight temperatures have made clean-up efforts difficult. Crews have been working around the clock and will continue until the town is returned to normal.
