The Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood has been designated as by the Town Council as a Neighborhood Conservation District Zoning Overlay.  

Notice: Some elements of the Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood Conservation District are no longer enforceable by the Town due to the enactment of North Carolina Session Law 2015-86, which became law on June 19, 2015.

 

The Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood was the fifth neighborhood in Chapel Hill to become a Neighborhood Conservation District; therefore, it is referenced as CD-5.

What is a Neighborhood Conservation District Zoning Overlay?

Neighborhood Conservation District (NCD) Zoning Overlay is a set of land use regulations that is applied to a specific neighborhood as a zoning overlay. Any new construction or additions must comply with the Neighborhood Conservation District regulations.

Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood Conservation District Plan and Design Guidelines

On June 11, 2007, the Town Council amended the Zoning Atlas to include the Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood Conservation District zoning overlay.

The Mason Farm/Whitehead Circle Neighborhood Conservation District Plan outlines the regulations for the neighborhood. Any new construction or additions must comply with these regulations.
