Development review follows the Development Review Schedule. Applications must comply with the Requirements for Technical Review Applications. See below for current schedules and documents.

The review process is now shortened 6-week process that ends with a staff/applicant meeting. The deadline for new application submittals is the fourth Thursday of each month.

This schedule pertains to the initial staff review of those development applications that are to be reviewed and approved by Advisory Boards and Commissions or the Chapel Hill Town Council.

Technical Review Teams

The Town of Chapel Hill has two development review teams. The Technical Review Team (TRT) reviews larger-scale development applications approved by Council or Advisory Boards. The Permit Review Team (PRT) reviews smaller-scale development applications approved by staff.
