Project Summary

UNC Health Care is developing a Master Planning to develop the 48-acre Eastowne UNC Health Care property, envisioned as a campus for the next generation of health care services for region.  Over the next 18 months, the Town Council, Advisory Boards and Committees, and the community will be reviewing the proposal in preparation for the Town Council’s approval of the final Development Agreement.  See Development Agreements.

What is a Development Agreement?

In Chapel Hill, development agreements have generally been used to address large, complex, multi-year projects, and/or projects for which both the developer and the Town make infrastructure improvements and other investments.  See Development Agreements.

Public Participation

The Development Agreement process proposes multiple opportunities for public involvement including public comment periods at Advisory Board meetings and Council meetings. A formal public hearing would be required prior to any final vote on a proposed Development Agreement.
