Participants must be at least 6 years of age for the open climb.

The gym at Chapel Hill Community Center has an indoor climbing wall that caters to climbers of all levels. With over 40 different routes to choose from, both beginners and experts can challenge themselves. Additionally, there is a bouldering section for solo practice or for children without a partner. A climbing wall attendant is always present to supervise and assist with any inquiries. While a limited number of harnesses and helmets are provided, you are welcome to bring your own. Rental of specialized climbing shoes is also available for $3. Please note that all climbers under 18 must have a signed release form from a parent or guardian before using the wall.

Belay Testing
Every year, belayers must pass a test to show they know and can handle equipment, especially the GriGri belay safety device. The minimum age requirement for belayers is 13 years old. There is no fee for those who are entirely belaying and not participating in climbing.
