During this unprecedented time, staff are working hard to convert operations to remote and electronic only. Permit Center staff will be available by phone from 8:30am to 3pm daily to allow time for processing requests and training. Due to the high volume of emails and phone calls, processing requests may be delayed. Requests will be completed in the order they're received.
The following changes have been made to processing times:
Approval of sub permit applications may take up to 3 business days. This time may vary if prior approvals are required or additional information is needed.
Acceptance of building permit applications can take up to 2 business days.
A Residential Permit Application is used for additions, renovations, repairs, new construction, any trade work that involves the installation, extension, repair, or alteration of any plumbing system, heating or cooling equipment system, electrical wiring, appliances or equipment on 1 and 2 family dwellings and townhouses.
A Commercial Permit is intended for proposed work that includes renovations, upfits, repairs, new construction, multi-family projects, or any trade work that involves the installation, extension, repair, or alteration of any plumbing system, heating or cooling equipment system, electrical wiring, appliances or equipment on buildings other than 1 or 2 family dwellings and townhouses (condos, apartments, retail spaces, etc.).
