Chapel Hill Recognized for Innovative Communications
The Town of Chapel Hill has been recognized for communications excellence with a state award from the NC Association of Government Information Officers (NCAGIO).
The Excellence in Communication: Broadcast Programs Award was presented to Ran Northam, communications specialist in the Communications and Public Affairs Department, during NCAGIO’s annual seminar on Nov. 19. The award was for the public information video on the Town’s November 2015 Bond Referendum. View the video here https://vimeo.com/139584940. Chapel Hill voters approved the five bond orders totaling $40.3 million to fund streets and sidewalks, trails and greenways, recreation facilities, solid waste facilities and stormwater improvements.
The Town of Chapel Hill's Communications Strategy states that its goal is to build community through the highest standards of openness and participation. We reach out to people where they are to tell the story of what we are doing and how our actions affect them.
The Town of Chapel Hill also has been recognized with communications awards from the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) and from the NC City & County Communicators (NC3C). Chapel Hill awards are listed at http://www.townofchapelhill.org/residents/about-chapel-hill/awards.
