The Town of Chapel Hill ranks ninth on’s “100 most educated places in America.”

The online magazine found that about 95 percent of residents in Chapel Hill have at least a high school diploma and 76 percent have earned a bachelor’s degree, which is due in large part to UNC-Chapel Hill.

The article highlights the fact that college towns don’t actually dominate the list. Bethesda, Md., took the top spot with nearly 99 percent of residents older than 25 who have at least a high school diploma or associate degree and 81 percent with at least a bachelor’s degree.

Durham and Raleigh came in 11th and 14th respectively for most educated large cities.
