In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Town of Chapel Hill has joined Orange County’s Stay at Home Declaration, in effect through April 30. More information at www.townofchapelhill.org/coronavirus.
As we practice physical distancing and staying at home, some community members may feel isolated and alone. A faith community is an important part of social identity, and we encourage you all to find creative ways to meet virtually during this difficult time. Orange County Health Department has prepared information for faith communities during COVID-19.
RESIDENTIAL TRASH COLLECTION: Yard waste will not be collected on April 10. Residential trash collection will not be affected. Weekly yard waste and bulky items will not be collected after Saturday, April 18, until further notice. The items will still be accepted at no charge at Orange County’s Waste & Recycling Centers.
CURBSIDE RECYCLING: No change in schedule
COMMERCIAL TRASH will not be collected on April 10. Friday’s trash will be collected before the end of the week.
ORANGE COUNTY LANDFILL and WASTE & RECYCLING CENTERS will be closed Friday, April 10, and Sunday, April 12.
CHAPEL HILL PUBLIC LIBRARY is closed until further notice.
CHAPEL HILL TRANSIT will operate on a Saturday schedules (no U and NU routes) on April 10. EZ Rider service will not change. Chapel Hill Transit will not operate on Sunday, April 12. EZ Rider will provide premium service, by reservation only.
HOUSING: Office and Maintenance Division will be closed. For emergency maintenance services, call (919) 968-2855.
PARKS AND RECREATION facilities are closed. Programs and events are canceled until further notice.
