The purpose of the meeting will be to receive and share with the public information regarding the steps the Town of Chapel Hill is taking in response to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Town Manager Maurice Jones and other members of Town staff will present information on what Town services are being provided, modified and reduced, and what steps are being taken in response to the State of Emergency Declarations issued at the state and local levels, in response to the current conditions.
Town Council members will be participating in this meeting remotely, through internet access, and will not be physically in attendance. Members of the public may live stream the meeting and view it over the Town’s cable television channel access and are encouraged to do so.
There will be an opportunity for the public to view the meeting by coming to the Council Chambers in Town Hall. However, because of the directives issued regarding crowds and social distancing, there will be limited seating available at Town Hall and it may be necessary to turn people away.
There will not be an opportunity for public to comment or ask questions. The Council will NOT take any action to vote on adoption of any ordinances or development permits at this meeting
