Chapel Hill Transit suspends transit service starting 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20

RU bus in snowChapel Hill Transit will suspend transit service at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 due to snow and icy conditions in the forecast. Chapel Hill Transit is closely monitoring the weather and road conditions and will move swiftly to ensure the safety of our operators, riders and community members.

The several routes will be impacted by suspending service.

CM to Family Medicine at 7:40 p.m.
CW to Pittsboro St. at Credit Union at 7:46 p.m.
D to Old Sterling at 7:47 p.m.
D to UNC Hospitals at 7:55 p.m.
F to Colony Woods at 7:45 p.m.
F to Old Fayetteville at 7:38 p.m.
FCX to Friday Center Park and Ride Lot at 7:52 p.m.
G to University Place at 7:43 p.m.
G to Booker Creek Apartments at 7:47 p.m.
HU to Hedrick Building at 8:02 p.m.
J to Rock Creek at 7:56 p.m.
J to Collins Crossing at 8:02 p.m.
NS to Southern Village at 8:10 p.m.
NS to Eubanks Park and Ride Lot at 8:20 p.m.
NU to RR Lot at 7:44 p.m.
RU to Family Medicine at 7:52 p.m.
RU to Family Medicine at 8:07 p.m.

EZ Rider's last pick up time will be at 6 p.m. EZ Rider clients with pick-ups later than 6 p.m. will be contacted by staff to reschedule trips.

Chapel Hill Transit will announce any changes to service promptly via service alerts, updates to the website and twitter.

Chapel Hill Transit will determine an opening time for Friday, Feb. 21, around 6 p.m. Thursday. EZ Rider will begin service no earlier than 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb 21.

Chapel Hill Transit buses will continue to follow normal routes and published schedules as long as the streets are safe. If there is a significant accumulation of snow, ice or freezing rain, some routes will detour to avoid unsafe areas (hilly areas, areas that icy or obstructed). To be safe, dress warmly and expect delays. Road conditions affect all traffic, buses may experience delays but should still arrive at regular intervals.
