Chapel Hill Transit will suspend transit service at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 due to snow and icy conditions in the forecast. Chapel Hill Transit is closely monitoring the weather and road conditions and will move swiftly to ensure the safety of our operators, riders and community members.
Chapel Hill Transit will determine an opening time for Friday, Feb. 21, around 6 p.m. Thursday. EZ Rider will begin service no earlier than 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb 21.
Chapel Hill Transit buses will continue to follow normal routes and published schedules as long as the streets are safe. If there is a significant accumulation of snow, ice or freezing rain, some routes will detour to avoid unsafe areas (hilly areas, areas that icy or obstructed). To be safe, dress warmly and expect delays. Road conditions affect all traffic, buses may experience delays but should still arrive at regular intervals.
