Public Information Meeting on Conditional Zoning
The Town of Chapel Hill is considering a proposed conditional zoning Land Use Management Ordinance (LUMO) text amendment related to conditional zoning.
A public information meeting about the proposed text amendment is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in the first floor conference room of Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The proposed text amendment modifies Articles 3 and 4 of the LUMO (refer to https://bit.ly/2pKsmoo), including:
- Additional uses to be allowed as part of conditional zoning;
- Changes to concept plans related to conditional zoning requests.
Conditional zoning is a rezoning with conditions, which allows a governmental body to rezone a parcel subject to certain conditions, mutually agreed to by the applicant and the governmental body. Conditional zoning is a legislative process, not a quasi‐judicial process.
