Chapel Hill Public Foundation Fundraiser “Birdies Fore Books” Brings Miniature Golf to the Library
The Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation will present “Birdies Fore Books,” a fundraising event that will bring miniature golf to Chapel Hill Public Library on Oct. 4 and 5, 2019. A miniature golf course will be created for one weekend, and attendees who purchase tickets can enjoy putting around with refreshments in a 2-day event format.
On Friday, Oct. 4 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., a grown-up themed evening will consist of a reception and mini-golf play followed by a silent auction. Advance tickets cost $30. Saturday is a family-oriented event running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rounds of mini-golf vary from $5 to $8, depending on age, with kids under five years old playing for free. Popcorn and lemonade are included, and a hot dog cart will serve hot dogs for purchase. More information and advance tickets are available at the Foundation’s website at www.chplfoundation.org.
Board Chair of the Library Foundation Andy Gunning says he’s excited to raise money for the Foundation’s operational costs. “We are very excited about our upcoming Birdies Fore Books event. We’re building a mini-golf course inside the library, and anyone can come play. Funds raised will go to the Library Foundation, which supports the library with donations toward programs and special projects. We hope everyone comes out to have some fun, play some putt-putt, and support this great cause!”
Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are still available.
