Fordham Boulevard Sidepath Public Meeting
Increasing Bike-Ped Transportation in Eastern Chapel Hill
Would you like to be able to walk or bike along Fordham Boulevard from the Glen Lennox area to the eastern end of the Blue Hill District? A Town of Chapel Hill project is underway that will allow you to do just that.
Come to the Fordham Boulevard Sidepath Public Meeting to learn more about trail design options and provide your feedback. The meeting is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Chapel Hill Community Center, 120 S. Estes Drive.
The project will improve an existing asphalt path from Cleland Drive to Ridgefield Drive along the east side of Fordham and extend it to Willow Drive. The path would be built to national and state standards for a multi-modal path.
The project is part of the Town’s long-range plan to increase pedestrian and bicycle transportation throughout eastern Chapel Hill. The improvements will connect shopping and residential areas with pedestrian and bicycle friendly facilities.
Previous public information meetings were held in August 2018 and January 2019. To learn more about the project, visit https://bit.ly/2lOOP1W or contact Bill Webster, planning and development manager for the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, at email@example.com
