Transportation Planning Manager Bergen Watterson says that hearing directly from residents creates an opportunity.
“We have lots of data and sensors on traffic in Chapel Hill – but nothing beats the human experience,” Watterson said. “We really want to understand what it’s like for people to get around Chapel Hill, and how we can make it a better experience.”
Moving forward, the Town will use the ideas and feedback from these sessions and surveys, as well as best practices from other cities, to address traffic concerns. The initiative is part of the Town’s efforts to build a Connected Community, one of the Town’s Strategic Goals. www.townofchapelhill.org/councilgoals
All sessions are free and open to the community. The survey will be available until Sept. 30.
