In addition to our parks, trails, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation offers a myriad of recreation programs and cultural activities for all ages and social backgrounds.
Available now are our fall programs for 2019. Featured this year are new art classes, adult recreation leagues and outdoor adventure programs.
There's magic in our parks and we need your help to make homes for the fairies and gnomes before the fall arrives! Or, come learn the basics of how to make your own jewelry! Are superheroes and comic books your jam? Sign up for our new family art classes. You'll be glad you did!
It’s more than a game. Join in on the fun, team competition, and camaraderie of our adult softball leagues. Get in the game and relive your playground glory! Kickball is widely referred to as “The People’s Sport” because absolutely anyone can play. Chapel Hill has a rich basketball heritage; this is why it is a consistent favorite among league players. Basketball helps build physical fitness, promoting agility, endurance, and cardiovascular health
Adventure seekers, start winter break by spending the day exploring the SKYWILD high ropes course and the Greensboro Science Center. For seniors, explore the river bank as we paddle flat water down the Eno River on Oct. 16. Learn the fundamentals of kayaking and canoeing. Two paddling adventures for everyone, on the Neuse River through class 1 and II rapids on Sept. 8, and a sunset paddle on Jordan Lake on Oct. 5.
Browse all our programs and register online at www.chapelhillparks.org, or pick up your own printed copy at one of our recreation or aquatic centers, the Chapel Hill Public Library, Chapel Hill Public Housing offices, and Town Hall.
