Reconstructing Hillsborough Street

Turner Asphalt, a contractor for the Town of Chapel Hill, will begin the reconstruction project of Hillsborough Street, between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Franklin Street, on Monday, June 10.

The project will take approximately eight to ten days to complete, weather permitting.

  • Work hours: Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Traffic reduced to one southbound lane throughout project
    • Northbound traffic use Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
  • Chapel Hill Transit: northbound A & Saturday T routes detoured to Franklin Street to Columbia Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; southbound traffic—toward Franklin Street—no change
