Preparing for thousands of anticipated visitors on Mother’s Day and UNC-Chapel Hill graduation this weekend (May 11-12), Downtown Chapel Hill is showing off its spring beauty.

Behind-the-scenes activities include:

  • cleaning and pressure washing of streets, sidewalks and trash receptacles
  • putting up new flags at the Post Office
  • checking and repairing sidewalks
  • picking up litter from sidewalks and parking lots
  • paying special clean-up and maintenance attention to Town-maintained cemeteries
  • performing traffic signal maintenance
  • cleaning, repairing and replacing signs in downtown and on major corridors
  • mowing along Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Fordham Boulevard and South Road/Raleigh Road

Bringing out our best in the heart of Chapel Hill is a team effort among the Town of Chapel Hill Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments, the Chapel Hill Police Department, and the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership.
