Council Retreat to Plan for Community
The Chapel Hill Town Council will meet Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25-26, for its annual Council Retreat to clarify key interests for the budget planning process; and to affirm goals and work plan priorities.
“The Council gathers each year for an intensive discussion of its shared community goals, and how to use these goals to propel us forward,” said Town Manager Maurice Jones. “This planning work helps direct our activities, and the allocation of staffing and resources to achieve them.”
The retreat will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Launch Chapel Hill, 306 W. Franklin St., and continue from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Center for School Leadership Development, 140 Friday Center Drive.
The Council will receive an overview of 2018 accomplishments, as well as a presentation on Town debt, capital and financial policy from Davenport Associates on Friday, and continue a review of the budget and the budget process on Saturday. Discussion of Council Goals and their prioritization is also scheduled for Saturday.
