Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation operates two Community Centers. These centers are a vital source of learning and recreation for residents of Chapel Hill. For many neighborhoods, like our own Hargraves Center, they are the heart of the community.
The Hargraves Community Center, located at 216 N. Roberson Street in Downtown Chapel Hill, will host two Open Forums in January to hear the community's thoughts and ideas for offering new and innovative activities and recreation programs to the Hargrave’s community and surrounding areas. Join us on either Tuesday, January 8 from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. or Saturday, January 12th from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Hargraves Auditorium. We welcome your ideas and suggestions to help support our efforts in continuing the legacy of service at the Hargraves Community Center.
The Hargraves Community Center includes an auditorium and the Northside Gymnasium and meeting room. Outside facilities include the A.D. Clark outdoor swimming pool, a softball field, tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground and picnic shelter. The Hargraves Community Center offers a variety of programs for all ages year-round, including after school, teacher workday and summer day camps for ages 5 -12. There's dance for all ages, talent and fashion shows for middle and high school youth, field trips and holiday programs for seniors. The center also offers an adult game night, a computer lab and game room with table tennis and a billiard table.
