Chapel Hill is coordinating with UNC-Chapel Hill to prepare for a public demonstration in response to a plan for the Confederate monument.
The gathering is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Peace and Justice Plaza, 179 E. Franklin St.
Streets may be closed to traffic, affecting Chapel Hill Transit, parking and traffic flow in the area of the 100 block of East Franklin Street. Traffic news will be available @ChapelHillGov on Twitter.
Peaceful demonstrations involving people exercising rights of free public expression have taken place in our community at Peace and Justice Plaza https://bit.ly/2DXyuyN for many decades. All who gather here are asked to uphold the tradition of free speech and non-violence.
