Bolin Creek Tunnel Closure on Monday, June 25
On Monday, June 25 anyone using the Bolin Creek Trail should plan to avoid the pedestrian tunnel at Pritchard Avenue for much of the day.
The mural artist, Daniel LeClaire, is scheduled (weather permitting) to apply the Coval concrete protectorate to the tunnel mural under Pritchard Avenue on the Bolin Creek Trail. He will begin at 7:30 a.m. The work should take about two hours. Due to the materials and methods he will be using (spray application) the tunnel will be closed to all use for four to six hours, or until the coating dries. Signs will be posted informing the public of the tunnel closure and offering alternative routes to the park and other parts of the Bolin Creek Trail.
While precautions will be taken by the contractor, the fumes from the coating within the enclosed space of the tunnel may be unpleasant and may cause irritation. The tunnel will be closed until the coating has time to dry. The tunnel should be open by 2 p.m. at the latest.
