Chapel Hill Police Seek Information in Armed Robbery at Speedway Gas Station
The Chapel Hill Police Department is seeking assistance in the apprehension of three suspects involved in an armed robbery Monday evening at the Speedway Gas Station at 1213 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (south of Homestead Road).

The suspects were described as three black males, approximately 6 feet tall, dressed in dark clothing and wearing bandanas over their faces. One suspect was seen wearing a football-style jersey with the number 77 on the front and back; one suspect was wearing a black shirt; and one suspect had a blue jump suit with black or brown work-style boots. A handgun was displayed by one of the suspects in the robbery; the other two suspects did not display weapons.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 10:27 p.m. Monday. Two store clerks were assaulted and forced to empty the cash register, which had approximately $700 inside. The suspects reportedly fled on foot toward the back of the store.
