The second community meeting regarding the NC 54 Safety Study will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Frank Porter Graham Elementary School, 101 Smith Level Road, Chapel Hill.
The purpose of this study is to develop a framework for improving multimodal safety and mobility on NC 54 between Manning Drive in Chapel Hill to Old Fayetteville Road in Carrboro.
Members of the project team will show and describe how potential improvements could increase bicycle and pedestrian safety and mobility along NC 54. A formal presentation on the potential improvements will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Q&A period afterwards. Representatives from the Town of Chapel Hill, Town of Carrboro, Chapel Hill Transit, NCDOT Office of Safety and Mobility, and VHB (local transportation planning and engineering firm) will be in attendance to answer questions before and after the presentation.
