A public meeting for the Rogers Road Area Sewer Project is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love Church, 8005 Rogers Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
The Rogers Road team has evaluated all alternatives and, in coordination with Town of Carrboro staff and elected officials, has decided to move forward with low-intensity underground blasting for rock removal near Tallyho Trail. The project is in Carrboro’s jurisdiction.
Significant work has been done to remove underground rock from the sewer path, but the rock that has been encountered is extremely dense and has not reacted well to mechanical methods of removal (e.g. hoe-ramming and rock grinding).
In preparation of the low-intensity underground blasting, the Rogers Road Project Team is hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed blasting and answer any additional questions and concerns from the community.
If you are unable to attend the meeting or have questions or concerns, contact OWASA Utilities Engineer Allison Reinert at (919) 537-4229 or email@example.com.
