Chapel Hill Transit to Detour the F and FG Routes Beginning on Tuesday, November 1st

Chapel Hill Transit will implement a minor detour for the F and FG routes beginning on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, due to a North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) project to replace a pipe culvert on Ephesus Church Road between Longleaf Drive and Tinkerbell Road. During this time, the F and FG routes will operate along Tinkerbell Road, Manly Street and Longleaf Drive. The detour and stop closures will be in-place until further notice.

Closed Stops: Ephesus at Tinkerbell East (#3475) and Ephesus at Tinkerbell West (#3059).

Chapel Hill Transit will make every attempt to maintain normal schedules, but is advising customers to expect minor delays and allow extra travel time due to these detour. The detour and any delays will also impact Next­Bus predictions for the routes.

CHT Service Alert:  CHT to Detour the CM, N, RU and U Routes Beginning Wednesday, October 19th

Beginning Wednesday, October 19th, the CM, N, RU and U routes will be detoured due to the closure of Bowles Drive between Tar Heel Blvd. and Manning Drive due to construction. During this time, the CM, N, RU and U routes will be detoured along Bowles Drive to Tar Heel Blvd to Family Medicine parking lot. 

The bus stops on  Bowles Drive at Craige Dorm, Kenan-Flagler, Smith Center and Hinton James Tennis Court will be closed. Customers may board the detoured buses at the alternate bus stops on Bowles Drive at Manning Drive, Family Medicine and at the temporary bus stops on Manning Drive at Ehringhaus Dorm and on Tar Heel Boulevard a the Ernie Williams Athletic Center.


Chapel Hill Transit operates fixed-route and demand-respone service throughout the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro with connecting routes to the regional transit provider, GoTriangle.
