Public Art in Chapel Hill

The Public and Cultural Arts Office is the steward of the Town of Chapel Hill's growing indoor and outdoor Permanent Collection now totaling over 150 works of art in a variety of media.  This art collection has been assembled over the years through private donations and commissions.  The Public and Cultural Arts Office is committed to the Collection's long-term maintenance, conservation, and preservation.  The Public and Cultural Arts Office monitors the condition of each artwork owned by the Town and makes recommendations for the care of each piece.

All publicly-accessible works of art in Chapel Hill are pictured in the gallery (linked on the left), even if they are not part of the Town's Permanent Collection.  Artworks are noted as Town-owned, privately owned, or university-owned (meaning UNC-Chapel Hill), and links showing an artwork's location on a map is provided when possible.  Please contact the Public and Cultural Arts Office if you would like further information about any of these pieces.
