Definitions:

  • Crimes Against Persons include homicide, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery.
  • Burglary is the unlawful entry into a building.  Force is not required; entering through an unlocked door is a burglary.  The building can be a residence, office, club house, storage shed, etc.
  • Larceny is taking or stealing property without the use of violence or fraud.  It includes taking things from a vehicle and bicycle theft.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft is the taking or stealing of automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, mopeds, etc.
