A Commercial Building Permit Application is required for all non-residential construction work, regardless of cost. Any work other than Single Family or Two Family residential is considered non-residential and is subject to the North Carolina Commercial Building Code. (See Work Requiring a Permit for additional information.)

Use this application for the following purposes:

  1. Any non-residential construction
  2. Any multifamily residential construction (building has more than 2 units)

Note: All land disturbing activity requires a Zoning Compliance Permit. Any project that includes land disturbing activity must include an Issued Zoning Compliance Permit as part of the application. (See Work Requiring a Permit for additional information.)
