Special Use Permit and Zoning Atlas Amendment Applications

Update February 24, 2016 - The 2015 Zoning Atlas Amendment and Special Use Permit applications have been withdrawn by the applicant. The Town Manager and the Town Council have granted construction completion deadlines for the 2009 Special Use Permit (to construct a two-story office building). The new completion date is December 18, 2021. Please click here for these documents.

The Town has received a Special Use Permit (SUP) and Zoning Atlas Amendment (ZAA) applications from HPW Properties, LLC. to construct a mixed-use development on a 1.7-acre site at 1609 East Franklin Street. The Special Use Permit application proposes a 67,612 square foot building with 96 hotel rooms and 28 apartments along with 123 parking spaces. 

UPDATE: The Zoning Atlas Amendment application submitted on December 29, 2014, part of project #13-089 was withdrawn by the applicant on August 18, 2015. A new Zoning Atlas Amendment application and application fee was submitted by the applicant on August 27, 2015. This application has been assigned a new number: #15-080.

Please note: The property at 1609 East Franklin Street has an existing Special Use Permit approved in 2009. This new hotel proposal requires a new Special Use Permit and a rezoning.
