The Town has approved a Special Use Permit (SUP) application and is currently reviewing Zoning Compliance Permit Applications from The John R. McAdams Company to develop an apartment complex on a 0.7-acre site at 105 Kenan Street, between Kenan and Mallette Streets, just behind the Franklin Hotel. The proposed site is an existing public and private parking lot. The site is located in the Town Center-2 (TC-2) zoning district. The SUP application proposes to construct a 7-story apartment building with 76-97 dwelling units and to provide parking for 124 vehicles.
