Athletic Hotline

If inclement weather should arise, the Athletic Hotline will be updated with program information. The Athletic Hotline number is 919-685-8277.

Volunteer Coach

The Parks and Recreation Department is always in the need of good volunteer coaches for varies sports. Coaching opportunities are not restricted to Orange County residents.  A background check is required for applicants selected as potential coaches.  You must pass the background check to be approved as a coach.  If you are interested in being a volunteer coach for a youth sports, please submit a Coaching application - Basketball 2016-17 and a Background Check Form For Volunteers.  Once application is received, you will be notified for an interview.  Children of volunteer coaches will be allowed to participate in the sport their parent coaches without charge. This will be limited to two free of charge participants per season.

The Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Department provides several multi-purpose fields for use by the public when they are not scheduled for department programs or reserved.

Lincoln and Rashkis Gym Schedule

During the basketball season open gym opportunities are limited due to games and practices.  The normal operating hours are listed below.    In the event of inclement weather please call the information hotline at 919 685-8277 for program information. 

    Lincoln gym Hours

  • Monday through Friday 6:00 - 9:00 PM
  • Saturdays 12:00 PM- 5:00 PM  **4/29 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM**
  • Sundays 1:00 - 5:00 PM

    Rashkis Gym Hours

  • Tuesday through Friday 6:00 - 9:00 PM
  • Saturdays 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Sundays 1:00 - 5:00 PM

 

PICKELBALL

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It's fast paced, easy to learn, great exercise and fun! Come learn to play this exciting game, or challenge the advanced players.

Fees for Indoor Courts:  

18 and under    Fee per Visit: $1 R; $2 NR

                                    Annual Pass: $5 R; $20 NR

19 and older    Fee per Visit: $2 R; $3 NR

                                   20 Visit Pass: $30 R; $48 NR (expires one year from date of purchase)

                                  Annual Pass: $60 R; $96 NR
