Athletic Recreation

Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation offers engaging youth athletics programs, adult athletics programs, drop-in sports, fitness classes, and leisure activities for men, women and co-ed teams. Our athletics programs provide healthy competition, coaching and skills instruction, and help our community stay fit and healthy in a positive social environment.

Communities that participate in sport and recreation develop strong social bonds, and the people who participate are generally healthier and happier. Not only are athletics programs a good place to bond with our friends (and make new ones), they also got us moving and helped foster a competitive – and cooperative – spirit.

Benefits of Athletic Recreation include:

  • Brings people together, providing opportunities for social interaction.dicks_team_sports_280x400
  • Empowers, inspires and motivates individuals.
  • Provides work/life balance.
  • Sport and recreation clubs are the hub of community life.
  • Contributes to higher levels of self-esteem and self-worth.
