The UNC-Chapel Hill School of Government completed "Chapel Hill 2020: An Assessment of Public Participation," a report and recommendations that includes results of a summer 2012 study of participants and a study of the public engagement process used by the Town of Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill 2020 is all about involving you from the very beginning. What you say will be heard, understood, and acted upon. Chapel Hill 2020 is thousands of voices leading to one vision. Now, we need your voice.
• Become a Stakeholder!
Stakeholders will identify the key themes for our community vision. If you live work, study, visit, invest or play in Chapel Hill, you are a Stakeholder, join a key them working group, check back for online surveys or comment on the blog (www.2020buzz.com).
• Join a Theme Group!
Theme Groups are holding open-invitation public meetings built around key community topics through April 2012. The task of the Theme Groups is to identify and prioritize near- and long-term actions needed to achieve Chapel Hill 2020. • Subscribe to our email list
We will send announcements about Chapel Hill 2020 on our weekly newsletter Chapel Hill eNews. • Earn Service Learning Hours!
The Town of Chapel Hill is looking for area high school students who are interested in earning service learning hours while they help to shape the future of Chapel Hill. The goal of our project is to provide students with an educational opportunity, to help the Town effectively create Chapel Hill 2020, a planning and visioning document that will be created by Chapel Hill stakeholders setting out a framework for the community that will guide the Council in managing Chapel Hill's future over the next 10 years.
