Work Opportunities
The Town of Chapel Hill offers a summer youth employment program. Please note, the 2016 program has ended. We will begin accept applications for next year's program in spring 2017.

Town Volunteer Opportunities
Various departments offer different volunteer opportunities. See below to learn more and find out who to contact.

The Chapel Hill Public Library runs a volunteer program for middle and high school students. Students typically volunteer for two hours per week at the same time and day. The bulk of the work is helping shelve children's materials, though there may be other occasional projects. Please note, CHPL's volunteer program is in high demand, and we are typically only able to add names to our waiting list. If interested, contact Stephen Ashley at sashley@townofchapelhill.org.

If you are looking to earn service hours more quickly from the library, we offer a program called Make it Write where students write letters and cards for people in need and earn service credit for their time. This program meets in the teen room every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 6-8, and registration is not required.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools keep a list of current volunteer opportunities available in the area on their service learning page.
