Summer 2013 Detour Routes and Schedules Available:

 

Beginning May 13, 2013, the D, J, NS, V, CCX CPX, JFX, PX, RU, Saturday JN, and Saturday T routes will be detoured for the South Columbia widening project and other road construction projects in the southern portion of Chapel Hill and Carrboro.  For detailed schedule information please click here.

The A, DX, NU and U routes will be detoured for the closure of the intersection at Stadium Drive and South Road.  The detoured routes will use Ridge Road, Country Club Road, and South Road.  For specific stop alternatives please visit the individual schedule page. 

While every attempt will be made to maintain published shedules, CHT is advising customers to expect delays throughout the system and allow extra travel time, especially during peak commute times.

Chapel Hill Transit is made up of four divisions including the Administrative Division, the Operations Division, the Maintenance Division and the Non-Departmental Division. Duties of the divisions of Chapel Hill Transit include:

  • Fixed-route bus services and EZ rider service for the mobility-challenged for the communities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and the University of North Carolina.
  • Operation of the Tar Heel Express – a park and ride shuttle service for special events.
  • Oversight of the taxi franchise approvals and renewals according to the Town Code of Ordinances.
  • Compliance with State and federal regulations.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of statistics.

 

Due to the detours and delays associated with the South Columbia Widening project, NextBus predictions are likely to be inaccurate.  Please refer to the printed schedules.
