The Town of Chapel Hill (Town) seeks written Qualification Statements from professional architectural/engineering firms (Consultant) specializing in mixed income housing development to provide design services for the design and coordination of the development of a housing community on a Town owned parcel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
The phase being contracted is for initial design concept. Subsequent construction of the project is expected to be a multi-year process, contingent on funding availability in succeeding years by the Town and its development partners. The Town expects to continue the relationship with the selected consultant for the duration of the project, contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding availability. As additional services are required for the project, the Town and the Consultant would negotiate a scope of work, deliverables, schedule, and budget; amendments to the original agreement would be executed as required.
The successful Consultant will demonstrate proficiency and experience in designing vibrant
and harmonious housing communities utilizing numerous housing types complimentary in
appearance for various populations, in addition to the ability to work with numerous
development entities. Additionally, the successful Consultant will demonstrate proficiency
and experience in creating construction documents, bid phase services and construction phase services.
