Winter Storm Inga Update
Chapel Hill is cleaning up after Winter Storm Inga dumped more than 6 inches of snow on the town. Public Works crews are focusing on clearing Town-maintained streets, bridges, overpasses and trouble spots. The NC Department of Transportation is focusing on the five major roads through Chapel Hill (Franklin Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Columbia Street, Fordham Boulevard, Manning Drive, and South Road/NC Highway 54).
Meeting cancelations: Wednesday's Chapel Hill Town Council regular business meeting is canceled. Wednesday's Chapel Hill Cultural Arts Commission meeting is canceled. The Meet the Author Tea scheduled for Thursday has been canceled and may be rescheduled for a later date.
Town facilities will be closed on Thursday. This includes Parks and Recreation facilities (including the Aquatics Center on Homestead Road), the Chapel Hill Public Library and other public-facing facilities.
High School Swim Meet Schedule
Homestead Lap Pool Closings
The High School Swim Team Season is now in full swing, now until January 18, 2018! Homestead Aquatic Center is Practice and Swim Meet Central for the three Chapel Hill-Carrboro High Schools: Chapel Hill, East Chapel Hill and Carrboro High.
The Lap Pool will close early to prepare for each swim meet. Because meet times vary, be sure to check the schedule to determine Lap Pool closing times. During swim meets, the Program Pool will operate on its regular schedule.
If possible, on days with an earlier swim meet start time, the Lap Pool will reopen for public lap swim, after the meet is over, until our regular closing time at 8:30 p.m.
For more information you may contact the Homestead Aquatics Center at 919-968-2799.
