On Sunday, Oct. 1, immerse yourself in the arts at Festifall, Chapel Hill’s premier arts event of the year. Spend the day and allow your senses to be stirred by the music, dance and performance art events along West Franklin Street. Stroll through the Handmade Artist Market and find your muse or your next perfect gift. This year's event will feature over 100 artisans from all over the south representing the finest in painting, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics, wood, metal, fiber and mixed media artworks. And you might just find yourself dancing to an incredible line up of musical performances from noon to 6 p.m. Discover your new favorite downtown restaurant or food truck.
Bring the whole family and discover the many interactive activities for the young and young-at-heart. Come show off your artistic talents on the Chapel Hill Magazine’s MEGA Mural and get your picture taken in the Enormous Adirondack chair made possible by Fitch Lumber and Hardware! Make a kids craft with Kidzu or the Scrap Exchange. The air will be filled with the melodies and sounds of over 25 music, dance and comedy performances at three stages along West Franklin Street.
There will also be food trucks featuring a selection of culinary delights. This year’s attendees include Cousin’s Maine Lobster, Bam Pow Chow featuring their delicious sliders, Qspresso with their Latin fusion fare and hearty, healthy food from the Medley food truck. If you’re in the mood for something sweet you can try Dusty Donuts famous mini donuts dusted with cinnamon, chocolate, pumpkin spice and more or Belgian Waffle Crafters, a food truck owned by native Belgians, serving authentic Belgian Waffles with many topping options and creative variations. There will also be refreshing ice treats served by Kona Ice Kabana, Ben & Jerry’s, Loco Pops and Little Dipper’s Italian Ice.
