Homegrown Halloween: Tuesday, Oct. 31

The Town of Chapel Hill continues its preparation efforts for the night of Halloween (Tuesday, Oct. 31) with the focus on safety for people and property.

“We launch a massive cooperative effort to encourage safety at Halloween on Franklin Street,” said Town Manager Roger Stancil. “We are in this together – Town, University, students, businesses and residents – in support of our community and its many visitors.” Click here to read more.

The local skate and scooter contest of the summer has been amazing so far! For this year's competition, The Apex Rodgers Family Skatepark, Chapel Hill Skatepark, Sk8-Cary, and The Daniel Dhers Action Sports Complex will be hosting the Tour from July 19 until Aug. 30. 

The first of five stops of the tour was held at DDASC. The advanced division took place in the mini-ramp, better know as the "shark tank", and the beginner division in the micro-ramp. The second stop of the tour was held in the Apex Family Skatepark, where all divisions, beginner and advancedB&W #4377 shredded the street section.

Next stop will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the Chapel Hill Skatepark on Aquatic Drive (rain date Wednesday, Aug. 16). Registrations will be available the day of the event at the same location.

Remember! Places, prizes, and points awarded at each stop. Waiver and forms for each stop may vary. Competitor must obey all facility rules to participate or risk disqualification.
