Homegrown Halloween: Tuesday, Oct. 31

The Town of Chapel Hill continues its preparation efforts for the night of Halloween (Tuesday, Oct. 31) with the focus on safety for people and property.

“We launch a massive cooperative effort to encourage safety at Halloween on Franklin Street,” said Town Manager Roger Stancil. “We are in this together – Town, University, students, businesses and residents – in support of our community and its many visitors.” Click here to read more.

Road Closed: Booker Creek Road

A contractor for the Town of Chapel Hill will replace a stormwater drain pipe under Booker Creek Road beginning Monday, Aug. 7, causing lane and road closures until early October.

Lane closures between Lakeshore Lane and Foxwood Drive (near the Booker Creek Townhouse Apartments and the Lower Booker Creek Trail) will begin Monday, Aug. 7, with through traffic maintained and flaggers assisting traffic. Booker Creek Road will be closed to through traffic between Lakeshore Lane and Foxwood Drive beginning Monday, Aug. 14. The road is scheduled to reopen the first week of October, weather permitting.

Chapel Hill Transit Detours G Route on Booker Creek Road Beginning August 14

 Chapel Hill Transit will detour the G route beginning Monday, Aug. 14.

The G route will be detoured along Honeysuckle Road to Foxwood Drive.

The detoured routes will not serve bus stops on Booker Creek Road at Lakeshore Lane (#3308), Booker Creek Apartments (#3307), and Foxwood Drive at Honeysuckle Road (#3306).
