Homegrown Halloween: Tuesday, Oct. 31

The Town of Chapel Hill continues its preparation efforts for the night of Halloween (Tuesday, Oct. 31) with the focus on safety for people and property.

“We launch a massive cooperative effort to encourage safety at Halloween on Franklin Street,” said Town Manager Roger Stancil. “We are in this together – Town, University, students, businesses and residents – in support of our community and its many visitors.” Click here to read more.

West Rosemary Street to Close: Columbia Street to Church Street

West Rosemary Street from Columbia to Church streets will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. Friday, July 14, through the afternoon of Saturday, July 15.

The contractor for the AC Hotel project will be deconstructing and removing the crane that has been in place since November. This work requires equipment to completely block West Rosemary Street.

Residents and employees of businesses at 140 West will be able to access the parking deck via Rosemary Street (if traveling from the east) or via Church Street, Short Street, Pritchard Avenue and Rosemary Street (if traveling from the west). Traffic wishing to access West Rosemary Street beyond the AC Hotel site may do so via Church Street. (See detour map.)
