The Town of Chapel Hill’s annual Arbor Day celebration will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., in the parking lot on the corner of Columbia and Stevens streets.

Suzie Roth’s third grade class from Northside Elementary School will participate and do a presentation of The Giving Tree.

Public Hearing to Consider an Ordinance to Permit the Sale of Alcoholic Beverages for On-Premises Consumption on Sunday Mornings Beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Enactment of the ordinance would permit establishments permitted by the State to sell, for on-premises consumption, alcoholic beverages on Sunday mornings beginning at 10 a.m.

The ordinance under consideration would permit sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption beginning at 10 a.m.  Consideration of an ordinance to permit sale of alcoholic beverages at establishments permitted for off-premises sales would be deferred until the fall.
