Introduction to Development Agreements
A public informational session on the development agreement process will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 in the Council Chamber of Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
A development agreement is a unique development tool for large projects, and two development agreements are currently being pursued in Chapel Hill:
- The future Municipal Services Center project on Estes Drive
- The Amity Station project at Amity Court and West Rosemary Street
Downtown Traffic Impacts Beginning April 10
The Town of Chapel Hill will begin a couple projects in the downtown corridor on Monday, April 10, that may impact traffic.Franklin/Columbia Intersection
The right lane of eastbound West Franklin Street in front of University Baptist Church (from the Carolina Square Project to the Columbia Street intersection) and the right lane of southbound Columbia Street in front of the church (heading toward UNC-Chapel Hill) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 10, and Tuesday, April 11. Impacts to Chapel Hill Transit
Chapel Hill Transit will temporarily close the bus stop on West Franklin Street at University Baptist (#3423) on Monday, April 10, due to a tree replacement project.
Customers may board the CW (detoured) and J routes at the Columbia Street at Fraternity Court bus stop and the F route at the Carolina Coffee Shop bus stop.
West Rosemary Street
One lane of West Rosemary Street will be closed from North Graham Street to Sunset Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning April 10 for the extension of streetscape improvements. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project. Improvements will include replacing and realigning the curb, installing the electrical duct bank and replacing the sidewalk along the north side of West Rosemary Street. This work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, April 21, weather permitting.
