Winter Storm Inga Update
Chapel Hill is cleaning up after Winter Storm Inga dumped nearly a foot of snow on the town. High-traffic roads have been cleared, but icy spots remain.
Town facilities are open Friday. Chapel Hill Transit service is operating on a modified schedule.
Residential solid waste collection will resume normal schedules next week. Commercial solid waste collection will be made up Saturday. Yard waste collection, including leaf collection, is canceled this week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday curbside recycling routes—collected by Orange County Solid Waste—will be collected Friday and Saturday.
Calling all Makers! Maker Gathering on March 18
A Maker Gathering will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 18, in Meeting Room B at the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive.
- 10:30-10:45 a.m.: Maker Share
- 10:45-11:45 a.m.: Visioning and Planning Meeting
- 11:45 a.m.-12 p.m.: Maker Share
The Visioning and Planning Meeting will include identifying interest groups and beginning preliminary planning of a Fall Maker Showcase and community outreach opportunities.
During the "Maker Share" parts of the gathering, a handful of makers are invited to share/present their creations. Each presenting maker will be given a table (or other space if a table doesn't work) at which to set up his/her display, and attendees will walk around to the tables/areas as if at a "Maker Faire." If you are interested in sharing your work/creations at the March 18 meeting, please email Michelle Lewis at email@example.com and describe what you plan to display and your space requirements.
All who are interested are welcome to attend this event! Register at http://bit.ly/2nfAuqz.
