Chapel Hill Transit Needs Your Input!
The Chapel Hill Transit service area is continuing to grow and how people get around is changing. Building on past planning work, Chapel Hill Transit is conducting a Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP) that will service as a roadmap for the next 10 years and position the system for continued future success. This plan is being developed in coordination with similar short range transit planning efforts being undertaken by Orange Public Transportation and GoTriangle.
What can Chapel Hill Transit do to better meet your transit needs?
Kickball Night with the Healthiest You Challenge
Parks & Recreations's Pitch Kickers Game Night
WCHL and Chapelboro, along with UNC Health Care and the UNC Wellness Centers, are helping 64 challengers on their journey to an active and healthy lifestyle.
Participants receive a free six-week membership at UNC Wellness Centers, along with group coaching, progress monitoring, and access to health education programs.
As part of the fun, friendly competition, the Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation will host a Pitch Kickers Kickball Night at Cedar Falls Park at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 29.
Jamy McGee, Health Education Director for UNC Wellness Centers, says, “Last year, one of our coaches suggested a kickball game … we had such a great time, we thought it would be great idea to get outside again this year and enjoy some healthy activities in ways many of us experienced as youngsters.
Well … in steps one of our team sponsors, Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, and voila, we have two fields at Cedar Falls Park reserved just for us!”
All the team sponsors and participants will get involved and play. Thank you Chapel Hill Gymnastics, A Better Image Printing, Durham-Orange County Medical Society, I-9 Sports, and Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation.
Please come join in the fun and cheer on our Healthiest You Participants. For more information, log on to our facebook page here or Chapel Hill Parks & Recreation Department at www.chapelhillparks.org.
